Three reflections, about 300–500 words each, turned in through TCU Online → Assignments by the start of class on the due date. Together they're the record you'll draw on in Reflection 3, when you make the case for your final grade.
Reflection 1 — "Where I'm starting" (due Fri 10/23)
This reflection is a starting point, not a test. You'll come back to it in Reflection 2 (halfway) and Reflection 3 (your final self-evaluation), so write it for your future self as much as for me.
Write about each of these:
- Where you're coming from. What experience do you have with coding, data, or thinking about the roles computers play in society? If you have none, that's fine.
- What draws you in, and what worries you. What are you looking forward to in this course, and what makes you uneasy? Both are useful to know.
- A prediction you can check later. Name one thing you think computers can tell us about culture, and one thing they can't. Please be specific enough that in December you could say whether you were right.
